Most of what I try to recruit here is volunteer help - folks willing to show up on Sundays and serve our neighbors in the park. But I want to give an extra measure of thanks to people who donated in the fall. I got laid off from my job at the start of November, and my ability to fund this solely out of my pocket was greatly diminished. I’m exceedingly grateful for the folks who stepped forward during this time and ensured we had funding through March. THANK YOU! Don’t fret, I started a new job (at my favorite non-profit) this week.

In other news, after polling the folks we serve, we found that an earlier meal meets their needs better. We no longer serve from 2:15-3:15. Instead, we’ve moved the meal up to 12:30-1:30.

And this is why I come to you now. I’ve upped the goal of this GoFundMe to reflect a 2nd (full) year of serving our neighborhood. I’ll still be there every Sunday, and I hope to see you there as well.

NOTE: I’ve archived the original introduction to the GoFundMe as ‘update #5’.
