Bailey's 17th Annual Toy Drive

17 years ago, I accidentally started a toy drive. I wanted to get rid of my son's toys that he no longer played with, to make room for Santa to bring new ones. There was nothing wrong with the toys, so I didn't want to throw them out. Instead, I took them over to the housing projects and gave them away. It was very well received, so I decided to start doing it every year.
Fast forward a few years.....Facebook came out, and I asked my friends if they had any toys to get rid of. They said "Yeah....but we'd really like to go with you." Ok....A toy drive was born. It has grown exponentially over the years. We now load and deliver TWO completely full UHauls full of bikes and toys to my kids in the housing projects. 
A few years ago, I had some friends that wanted to donate, but either weren't local, or didn't have kids. They asked if I would start a GoFundMe so they could donate. BAM!!!!! The toy drive grew AGAIN! 100% of the money raised is used to buy bikes and toys, and to pay for the UHauls. 
On December 21st we will all meet at the Grease Monkey in Arlington for lunch, and then caravan over to deliver the toys. It is BY FAR my favorite day of the year. I hope it's yours, too.
