Bahamas Strong

The Northern Bahamas such as Abaco and Grand Bahamahas significantly been affected by hurricane Dorian. This gofundme page will serve the purpose to collect proceeds to these two northern islands. For the past two years I’ve been involved in various charity and service efforts for other states and countries. I think it is now time that I focus my attention and fundraising skills on my own country and its well-being. With the proceeds, I along with a group of students from NSU will purchase water, canned goods, roofing, baby food, feminine products and anything necessary for survival after the storm.

Who am I? I am a proud Bahamian from the beautiful island of Grand Bahama. I am in my junior year at Nova Southeastern University and a part of various organizations such as Caribbean Student Association, Razors Edge Global (which focuses on global issues) and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

As I mentioned above I am from Grand Bahama, therefor this storm affected not only my family and friends but the entire nation. As we know hurricane Dorian left over 2,300 people dead on Abaco  island, and the death toll on Grand Bahama remains unknown. With all the funds, a few volunteers and I will go to Bjs, Cosco and Walmart in Florida to buy items in dire need on the two main islands. Items will be as I mentioned above, water, canned goods, roofing, baby food, feminine products, trash bags, bug spray, earlobe disposable mask and so one. All the items bought will be shipped to the two island by the  Fowlco-Import/Export Shipping company located in FL.
