"For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him." 1 Samuel 1:27

We love the children that God has already blessed us with. We are so glad that He trusted us to take care of them, to love them, to watch them grow, to teach them, to cuddle with them, to discipline them. We will never forget the day that they came to live with us. Those innocent nine year old eyes looking through the window of the car as they pulled into our drive way. That chunky two year old who waddled her way up to the front door with that goofy sweet smile. Both looking scared and trying hard to find their places in our family. Both wanting to just be loved and their eyes begging for safety.

We had only been married for six months before God started showing us the way to our girls. Honestly, He started showing us His plan way before we met. Our journey to start our family was a long and hard, God orchastrated one. We would love for you to hear more about our journey to our girls. Now for the part of the story that not many people know about. The part of the story that we left out before but as time goes on only gets harder to talk about.

We wanted to start a family right away. We tried for a baby, and a year went by, and we still were not pregnant. However, we weren't in a huge rush. We got placed with our girls almost one year into our marriage and we were happy. Our focus changed to be all about them instead of a baby. They were in our home and at the time we didn't know for how long. But we did know that we wanted life to be great for them while they were with us.

One year later, Brianna's sister shared that she and her husband were going to start trying for baby #2. We were so excited to share that we had also decided to start trying harder for a baby as well. At this time we knew that our foster girls would be staying with us forever, but we also knew that foster care adoptions take a lot of time. So, in the meantime we thought we would start to add to our family.

We did everything we could think of to get pregnant on our own but after Brianna's sister called with their exciting news of our precious niece on the way we started to feel a little discouraged. So, we took the next steps the following months and scheduled appointments with different doctors, including a fertility doctor.

After a lot of tests and a lot of waiting we were told that we would not be able to have a baby on our own.

These were words that no woman ever wants to hear. And no husband ever wants to see his wife go through something that he cannot fix.

We kept our heads up though and continued to try. Every month we were disappointed, yet, every month we would try again.

Although our hearts were breaking we were still excited for what God was doing with the girls as we slowly approached adoption day with them.

On May 4, 2016 we officially adopted our two beautiful girls.

We are so happy that God chose us for them. We have been through the toddler stage and we are already going through the teenage stage. Now our hearts want so badly to go through the newborn baby stage.

After a lot of time and prayer we have decided to adopt again. This time not through foster care. We will be self matching and finding a baby on our own. This will take a lot of time and a lot of work but we have seen God pick out the perfect kids for us already and cannot wait to see who He has for us again.

There will be different amounts of money that we will need at different times. Once we find a birth mom there might be some of her expenses and some legal fees that will be due right away so we are wanting to go ahead and start the fundraising so that we have that readily available.

We know that God's plan is much bigger than ours and by doing this we are by no means trying to rush Him or change His plan for us. God has called us all to adopt, we are just moving forward with that calling and ask you to join us as we take the next steps.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or encouragment. We covet your prayers and look forward to seeing how God uses you in fullfilling the calling He has put on the church to live out James 1:27.
