The battle for my son Koa.

Donation protected
I don't like to ask, but my situation has become dire and I am asking for your help. My beautiful 21-month old son Koa means the world to me, and I am being pushed out of his life by his mother, her new husband, and their very expensive attorneys.
I have exhausted all my means to maintain my legal representation and I need your help to keep fighting. I have nearly bankrupted my academy and there is nothing more to take. I have sold what I could of value, and I have even exhausted my student loans.

Here's a bit of history for those that aren't familiar:

His mother and I did not have a love relationship and certainly did not intend to become parents together. However, I would and have tried to be a willing and enthusiastically supportive co-parent. While his mother was pregnant I paid for every visit to the doctors, and attended with her. At about four months into the pregnancy it was discovered that she was involved in a fraudulent marriage. She then abruptly fled the area. She only emailed me to say there was no longer any reason for us to have any further communication, that there were no longer any ties between us. She completely disappeared. Only later did I find out about my son's birth.

I searched for her and my child diligently. I retained private investigators who eventually, nearly a year later found her in Miami. After five attempts to have her served, and her avoiding and hiding from service processors, I was finally able to get us into the justice system to win rights to support my son and be a part of his life.

Since then it has been a total uphill battle to see Koa. I retained a lawyer and have a temporary order to see my son every other weekend. I drive five hours each way to pick him up, and then return him back to Miami every visit. My son and I have a beautiful bond they can only exist between a son and dad. She has filed many ridiculous motions to drag out the process and force me to spend my limited funds. I make very little money from the academy, and I am a full time nursing student hoping to create a career with which to support myself and Koa. On the side I work as a painter but between school, studying and teaching I do not have enough hours in the day to work a full time job. I could quit school but then I give up my hopes for a professional career which will afford college for Koa among other benefits.

She moved away and started a new life; she married and created a perfect utopia which is marred by my presence in Koa's life. She has since hired three very expensive law firms to try to exclude me from his life. She has even tried to slander me to gain support from my friends.

I need your help. I cannot battle her powerhouse attorneys alone. I am pleading for your help to pay my attorney who no longer will accept a payment plan, but wants a lump-sum now for a new retainer that I cannot pay at the same time I am paying child support. Every contribution, no matter how small, will be so greatly appreciated.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
John-Michael
