Baby Payton Hoffert

Donation protected
On March 5, 2021 Kendra, Shadoe, Scarlett and Harper welcomed Payton into the world! The Hoffert family was now complete, and they were excited to start their new adventures! Scarlett started teaching Payton how to count to 10 in the first couple hours of being born (watch the video)

On March 7, 2021 every parent’s worst nightmare began. Payton was rushed to Children’s Hospital and has been fighting for her life.

Payton has a congenital heart condition. The two arteries from the heart run in parallel instead of a figure 8, so her blood does not get oxygenated. Babies are born with a hole in the heart that closes off around 24 hours, so she had to undergo a procedure to make the hole bigger and keep it open to ensure that her blood receives some oxygenation. A combination of being on a ventilator and the medication used to keep the hole open in her heart has now caused her lungs to fill up with secretions and her left lung has collapsed.

In the 264 hours Payton has been alive this 8lb baby girl has had to undergo multiple blood tests and IV sites, a feeding tube, a ventilator, multiple medications and their side effects, MRI, CT scans, X-rays, EEG, EKG, separation from her family, an emergency air ambulance ride, an endoscopic heart procedure and now open-heart surgery.

Kendra and Shadoe are spending their days beside Payton at the hospital. Auntie Sandee (G-Ma) is staying with Scarlett and Harper at Ronald McDonald House. Scarlett is 5 years old and has celiac disease. She needs to be on a very strict diet, and it does not come cheap. They do not have the option of just ordering pizza or picking up microwavable meals. Thank you to all who have pre-made dinners and sent to the hospital.

The Hoffert family has a long road of recovery ahead of them and Shadoe will not be able to return to work anytime soon! We are counting on our family and friends to come together and ensure they have everything they need and can continue to focus on Payton’s care Vs. the financial position they are in right now! Our Goal is to raise $15,000 for the family to cover their Mortgage Payments, Family bills and expenses they are accruing while staying in the hospital/Ronald McDonald house.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for every nickel, dime and dollar you donate as every cent counts.
