Baby Maximus Micro-Preemie Fund

Maximus Raynard Carter (Boy) was born April 8, 2018 to parents Amber Carter & Deontae Carter. Maximus arrived early at 24 weeks, classified as a micro-preemie weighing 1lb 11oz.

The same day baby Max arrived he was transferred from Bridgeport Hospital to Yale-New Haven Hospital NICU. Less than 48 hours after his arrival, ultrasound scan revealed stage 4 brain bleed. It's the worst stage a preemie can have. His bleeding is where his motor skills are located. For now, we do not know the outcome of which this bleed could cause, but have been told that Maximus could have Cerebral Palsy. Also his lungs are under developed and needs a special ventilator to keep him breathing. He received many blood transfusions and will continue to recieve as much help as he needs to grow. Currently his estimated discharge is July 2018, god willing. Due to this prolong stay, it is going to cause hardship for our family. The hospital is 35 minutes from home, and we never experienced having a baby born so premature. This is a stressful time as we are staying strong for baby Maximus along with his big brother Deontae jr. 

All support will go towards Maximus future care along with his medical bills. Mom (Amber Carter) will not return to work due to the unprecedented future of Maximus care. She is supplying breast milk for every feeding he receives. She has taken extended medical leave and hasnt left his side.
