U.S. enlisted Coast Guard needy fund

This GoFundMe page is for the dedicated and proud seamen families (non-rates)(E-3 and below) of the U.S. Coast Guard, active duty personnel. In light of the current government shutdown, times are uncertain for many non-rate family members of the USCG. Although the Navy Federal Credit Union and the Army Avation Center Federal Credit Union have sponsored zero to low interest rate short term loans, up to $6,000. As a non-rate family head of household seamen there maybe unwanted or over burdensome problems of either over extending there modest income by taking out one of these short term loans. Or there loved ones might very likely be on float or worse deployed overseas. they might be somewhat hesitant of seeking financial assistance which may draw unwanted attention to themselves or their families.

The point is, these seamen are proud and they are on active duty and can't just go out and find a P/T job to hold them over like a civilian has the opportunity to do. For us who have served or are serving we know all to well the unwritten stigma that can come with having your superiors find out that you need financial help. No matter what branch of service you served in or are currently serving in, or whether you've never served we are all brothers in arms.  I can guarantee that their are Coast Guard (non-rate) families that would so much appreciate a helping hand to get them through an unexpected hardship.

As a former U.S. Marine, I'm a former Senior Drill Instructor/Marine Recruiter/Howitzer Chief and Infantry Platoon Sergeant. While on active duty myself I did experience an budget stoppage, and although it was hard on all of us, it was twice as hard on those young Marine (non-rates) married individuals.
