Baby Lenny

Donation protected
Hey Everyone…

I have started up this fundraiser with the hope to help support my niece Leah Snell and her partner Charlie Custons- Reynolds’s beautiful baby boy Lenny. I have both their full permission to set this go fund me page up.

A little on Lenny’s story…

On the 30th June 2022, 6 weeks earlier than expected Leah and Charlie welcomed baby Lenny into the world. Lenny was born with gastroschisis. Shortly after being born he was transferred to St Thomas’s Hospital, London. Lenny underwent surgery, it was then discovered that Lenny has very minimal bowel / intestines. Because of this Lenny has no digestive system, meaning he will not be able to eat or drink by mouth. Lenny is fed by TPN, which means he is dependent on intravenous nutrition.
Lenny is now 3 months old, he will remain high risk to infections which he has already fought numerous times, He has also gone under further operations. He is now fitted with a Duodenostomy and Gastrostomy. Meaning he has three tubes/lines through his abdomen and chest connecting to his medical equipment. Lenny has been a absolute fighter throughout and is growing well and strong, but has a long road ahead of him. He currently remains in St Thomas’s hospital, but is expected to be transferred to the Evelina children’s hospital over the next few weeks where he will stay for the next few months, possibly longer.

The long term plan is for Leah, Charlie and carers to be medically trained to care for Lenny so he can be discharged on home intravenous nutrition, which is a complex intervention to manage in a home environment. This would require him to have his own room, large enough to accommodate an overnight carer, with space for equipment such as a refrigerator to store his intravenous feed, plus storage for other medial supplies.

Lenny would also benefit from items such as but not limited to; additional sensory toys due to spending a lot of his time in his cot, clothing to ensure of comfort and safety around his medical equipment, a pram that can carry his medical machines, cameras and specialised monitors as he will require 24/7 supervision, transport to allow Lenny to return to London for weekly appointments once discharged, as well as additional items and equipment as Lenny gets older.

As you can imagine this all comes very costly, the aim of this fundraiser would be to take some extra stress away from Lenny’s parents and family, to not only support him now but also for his future.

Thank you for reading, any donations no matter how big or small will be very gratefully appreciated.
