Baby Harmon’s Spina Bifida surgery

Friends and family,
We found out last week that the newest little Harmon addition has Spina Bifida. Thankfully, Emily has been accepted into a trial surgery during which doctors will go in and laparoscopically attempt to close the spinal opening with the baby still in utero. This is the best shot this little girl has for a bright future, but it is also a scary surgery. They will travel to Houston on April 9th and the surgery will be performed the following week. Because this is a new surgery they will most likely keep Emily in Houston so they can closely monitor both her and the baby until she is born (dd is August 1st). Prayers that God keeps his hand on Emily and this baby girl during this process are greatly appreciated. They also have a significant financial need for those who would like to help. They are looking at 4 months of temporary housing, food, plane tickets to and from Houston, and normal living expenses all while dealing with loss of income. This is a trial surgery so if everything goes according to plan the surgery is free. Once she is born they will likely be faced with a heavy burden of medical bills but we are focusing on one step at a time. Please keep Adam, Emily, Lola, Brooks, and especially their little one in your prayers!
