Baby Connor's Journey

Donation protected
This is Connor, my son.
His time with us has been short, thus far, in the big picture of things; however his struggles have been profound. He was born with, un-previously diagnosed, multiple interruptions within his gastrointestinal system (tracheoesophageal fistula, esophageal atresia and duodenal atresia). Landing him and myself far from home on his first day of life; only to be rushed into a 7 and a half hour surgery (after emergency cesarean section) to save his life that the surgeons were unsure he would survive. Thankfully he is a strong little man who has not only survived but has continued to thrive ( huge thanks to BC Children’s Hospital surgeons, ER staff, and NICU personnel ). Not without his hurtles though. He will have long term and life altering ramifications from his disease and surgery’s requiring alterations to his daily life; including crib, playpen, feeding equipment, car seat, stroller, etc. (More surgery’s to come through out his life). My only struggle is watching and waiting and helping to heal in time to bring this little man home. Our personal struggles Have been that the stay has become unreasonably unaffordable for us as a single income family. I wish not to bore you with my little life’s details and as we are usually an independent family whose always seen the brighter side of rainy days and I feel selfish in asking for a simple sum of finances to help us through. However I’m finding myself in desperate need having to stay near my son, and to create a safe and altered environment at home for him to return to in time. To be honest I’m hopeful only to fined the support to pay for my stay at Ronald McDonald House in Vancouver at a sum of about $400 per month. Special crib, play pen, etc and alteration needed for each estimated at about $900-1200. Also for help to pay for his feeding pump and supplies at about $500/ month (as they are not covered by BC MSP). And to prove your donations will not go misused (as many of these funding gimmicks are) I would be happy to accept gift cards for food as well as gas cards for  travelling to and from Connor’s recheck appointments and follow up surgeries back down at BC Children’s hospital, a minimum 13 hour drive round trip in perfect road conditions. For more information on Connor’s condition and help that may be of use please feel free to send messages and contact me personally. Much thanks to all that can help. And much thanks to any and all positive thoughts sent our way in lieu of financial support.
