Everyone always says," I just want to have a happy and healthy baby"...but what happens when that is not your story? We find ourselves digging deeper than we thought possible and finding the strength we didn't know we had. We pray to the highest power known. We seek out the best medical care. We lean on family and friends when we feel weak. We celebrate the small victories while remaining cautiously optimistic but no one wants to be on this path. He is a warrior. He has many standing with him, fighting for him, praying for his healing heart but his battle is going to take some time. Time away from loved ones, siblings, work and home in a whole other state.
Let me introduce you to Grady Breuer. He was born on September 28, 2020. He is perfect in every way, except his heart. He has hypo plastic left heart syndrome. Basically, he has no left ventricle. He was taken to Seattle Children's Hospital within a couple of hours of being born to be put into the hands of top Pediatric Cardiac Surgeons all while his mother, Jenna recovered from surgery at another hospital. Grady underwent his first of many open heart surgeries, at only 3 days old. Despite a few bumps in the road, he continues to fight so hard to be here with us. We want mom and dad to be able to completely focus on their beautiful son without any worries of extra expenses while away from home. Anything helps, a cup of coffee, a meal, a hotel room....
