Baby Beau is fighting for every breath

Spende geschützt

Hi, I'm Jesse Cain and I'm fundraising on behalf of Chelsea and Dave Griffin, and their new baby - Beau Griffin.

Baby Beau arrived Dec 13th at 2:23am.

At first, everything was fine. But Beau began struggling to breathe after birth. A respiratory therapist and pedatrician were called in. They ordered a variety of tests (blood work, xray, CT scan) and were unable to determine what was causing his breathing issues. It was decided he would need to be intubated (a breathing tube that allows a machine to breathe for him) and flown from the hospital in Fort McMurray to the NICU in Edmonton.

Beau and his parents will be in Edmonton at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, away from their 3 year old daughter Gemma, for an unknown length of time. For now, Beau is having a treatment called Neonatal Therapeutic Hypothermia - where his body is cooled for 3 days to decrease inflammation. Then the doctors will try to figure out what is causing his breathing issues and what further treatments he'll need.

Baby Beau is fighting for his life and he needs his Mommy and Daddy with him. This means Dave will not be able to work, and Chelsea is only getting maternity pay. They have to maintain their regular bills and now find a way to pay for hotels, meals, parking, travel, etc. On top of that, Christmas is less than 2 weeks away.

Please, donate to help get them through this difficult time. I understand money is tight this time of year, with all the price increases due to inflation making it even harder. Count your blessings, hug your own babies tight, and help support his parents for baby Beau's fight and recovery.
