Baby Aria needs a heart transplant!

What should have been a overwhelmingly happy time for Naomi and Ben turned into every parents worst nightmare.

Aria was born on 18th October 2021. Shortly after birth Baby Aria showed signs of being extremely unwell and was rushed to ICU at the RVI in Newcastle. When Doctors realised it could be something to do with her heart she was blue-lighted to the freeman hospital due to doctors suspecting a heart attack.

Over the coming days further tests were done, Aria was put on full life support and medicines. Doctors suspected heart failure. Many tests were carried out and doctors are still unsure to this day what exactly has caused this. Due to Naomi having a uncomplicated pregnancy and nothing was picked up on routine scans this was a complete and utter shock to everyone!

Aria is now in urgent need of a heart transplant as nothing else has worked. Without it Naomi and Ben will likely lose Aria. Due to the nature of the situation another young life must be lost to save Arias life but a lot of people are not aware about organ donation and especially in this case consent has to be given. If these conversations are had and awareness is spread it might potentially help Aria.

No parent should have to worry about bills or mortgage or food shopping or have to choose between working or spending time with their little one who may not be here tomorrow.

Naomi and Ben also have another little girl 2 year old Kiyana and are balancing their time between the two. Due to covid restrictions they are not allowed to visit with Kiyana. I’ve set up this page to raise awareness around organ donation and to try and take off some of the burden and stressed they’re going through.

Other options are being looked into which may involve travel and other financial implications and i know that any donation no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.
