Guatemala Medical Mission
Spende geschützt
My name is Barbara Ponce and I am a Physician Assistant student at Florida International University. I am planning on going on my 4th medical mission to Sumpango, Guatemala from June 24-28, and I am emailing you today in hopes to raise donations for this mission. I travel with the Emmaus Medical Mission group, which includes doctors, nurses, students and volunteers. There, we provide medical care, medicines, and vitamins free of charge to the people from Guatemala.
Emmaus Medical Mission were first founded by an inspirational woman, known as Mami Leo, originally from Miami, Florida. She cared for hundreds of orphaned children for the last thirty (30) years, in the small town of Sumpango. Mami Leo dedicated her life to the emotional, physical, and mental well-being of abandoned children. This woman, who is my idol, made me realize my calling in life; to change the lives of people in this third world country, as well as through my career for men, women, and children in underserved areas in the United States. The people, especially the children from Guatemala, also known as “Guatemaltecos”, opened my eyes. This allowed me to view the world differently. I finally realized the important things in life, a truly humbling experience. I continue to have the desire to give my time, effort and knowledge to help individuals who cross my path.
I've been reaching out to family, and friends to try to raise money for medical supplies, medicines, and other daily necessities for the people of Guatemala, and the AMAZING kids from the orphanage. I wanted to ask if you could please help me spread the word to anyone you might know who would be interested in donating to this type of a mission.
Forever grateful,
Barbara Ponce (babi)
