BaBa Booey needs surgery to remove cyst from jaw
Spende geschützt
Baba Booey was rescued by me 4.5 years ago, 6 months after leaving the track.
Recently, we noticed his jaw changing and per vet were told to watch it closely and if it started to grow we would have to further investigate. It did start to rapidly grow.
Vet came and did x-rays, determined there was a growth, but the maxiofacial surgeon felt it was a cyst. Biopsy was performed last week and turns out they feel very confident it is a cyst and not cancer. However, because of the growth rate this has to be operated on, removed and closed.
The surgeon, believes costs will be As high as $5,000. Any funds not used will be donated to a TB aftercare program and vet bills will be posted. The initial vet expenses are $1100.00, which I have paid. But now I need help coming up with the balance. I hate asking for help, all horses are deserving of the best care, but Booey, a war horse, dumped and starved, deserves this, otherwise eventually, without the surgery, the prognosis would not be good.
Booey was posted on Facebook for sale or he would be going to auction and the Photo with that Post was of a rack of bones. It turns out, he probably didn’t have much longer to live. When he arrived he couldn’t lift his head up to drink from the bucket, they had to be put on the ground. About 400lbs under weight, full of rain rot from head to toe, cellulitis in all 4 legs and abscesses in hoofs. It was a 6 month long process to get him fully healed and now, he’s such a lovely horse. a truly special horse.
I need help to ensure the best boy gets this necessary surgery. Thank you for what ever you can do to help. Donate, share, have resources I may not be aware of? Thank you!
