Autumn's kidney transplant fund
Donation protected
My name is Robin Bedson. My youngest daughter Autumn DiDio is 30 years old and was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney disease; FSGS - Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis. Autumn will need a kidney transplant soon....within 3-4 months.
Last year Autumn went back to school at Continental Hair School to obtain a license in hair dressing. While at school, her disease advanced quite rapidly. It was difficult for her to keep up and work at the same time due to her ongoing symptoms. She has been on several advanced medications to try to bring the disease into remission. None of today's medicines have been successful. They gave her many adverse side effects. Even though she felt sick all the time, she endured and worked as much as she could. She's been a real trooper. She finished her school, got her hair license, and has tried to work as many hours as she can. She cannot work anymore than 15-20 hours a week because she is so close to renal failure.
She is now close to the time for the transplant. Due to the fact she cannot work full time she has tried to get SSI, which is supplemental pay for someone that cannot provide for themselves due to health reasons beyond their control. She has been denied over and over, because she works 15-20 hours.
There will be many expenses besides everyday living expenses that insurance will not cover. She will be on anti-rejection drugs indefinitely. She will be out of work from 2 months to indefinitely. She will have to get to and from many doctor and hospital appointments; as there can be unexpected problems along the way.
Autumn has 2 rescue dogs. She is very devoted to these animals as they are her companions. They are 7 years old and she will also have to pay someone to watch them during this transplant process.
It is very difficult to ask for help, especially financial help. Any help, aid or prayers you can offer will be so appreciated.
Please share our plea.
