El pasado 24 de junio, el terremoto que sacudió La Guaira cambió la vida de muchas familias. Entre ellas está la de mi prima Sibel, quien perdió su casa por completo. Mi tía, su mamá, también perdió parte de sus pertenencias.

Sibel es médico anestesiólogo, madre de dos hijas adolescentes y una mujer que lucha cada día por salir adelante. Hoy, en cuestión de segundos, se quedó sin el hogar que había construido con tanto esfuerzo.

Quienes conocemos la realidad de Venezuela sabemos lo difícil que es recuperarse de una situación como esta. Empezar de nuevo no significa únicamente reconstruir una casa; también implica volver a conseguir las cosas más básicas para poder vivir.

Por eso hemos decidido crear esta campaña de GoFundMe. Cada aporte, sin importar el monto, será de gran ayuda para que Sibel, sus hijas y mi tía puedan cubrir sus necesidades más urgentes y comenzar a reconstruir sus vidas.

Si en este momento no puedes colaborar económicamente, también nos ayudas muchísimo compartiendo esta campaña para que pueda llegar a más personas.

On June 24, the earthquake that struck La Guaira, Venezuela, changed the lives of many families. One of them is my cousin Sibel’s family. She lost her home completely, and my aunt, her mother, also lost many of her belongings.

Sibel is an anesthesiologist, the mother of two teenage daughters, and a woman who works hard every day to provide for her family. In just a matter of seconds, she lost the home she had built with so much effort.

Those of us who know the reality of Venezuela understand how difficult it is to recover from a tragedy like this. Starting over is not only about rebuilding a house—it also means replacing the basic necessities needed to live.

That is why we have created this GoFundMe campaign. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference in helping Sibel, her daughters, and my aunt meet their most urgent needs and begin rebuilding their lives.
