Help us bring our 1926 Ahrens Fox home!

In 1926 the Avon, NY Fire Department purchased an Ahrens Fox Firetruck. It was sold for scrap in 1959. A little while ago we found the Fox had been restored and is currently being housed in Canadian Automotive Museum in Oshawa, Canada!!! The Avon, NY community would like to bring her back home for use in parades and for educational purposes.

The Avon NY Fire Dept has always known what we had and should not have let her go so easily. When it was sold for scrap for $300 that new owner found an older Ahrens Fox and sold this one to someone in Brockport, NY. That gentleman sold it to Rothman Mall Craven Foundation who restored it in the 1970's. When the Craven Foundation folded it was aquired by the Canadain Automotive Museum. They have take wonderful care of the firetruck, but they need the room for Canadian automobiles. A few of us fire fighters have been to Oshawa to see the Fox and were treated superbly by our hosts! The museum would love to see it back in our loving hands. Home, where she belongs!
