This year, representatives from iHuman Youth Society reached out to us explaining how they were at a shortage of masks. With the second wave incoming, the organization wanted to ensure they have a large enough supply of masks to last throughout this year and potentially the next. The iHuman Youth Society proudly serves teens and adolescents in the Edmonton area who face complex issues such as housing, transportation, mental health, justice, financial assistance and medical care. These masks would ensure the safety of the staff and other individuals in the facility while they are receiving the help they need. All funds raised from this fundraiser will be used to purchase masks in support of iHuman.
Operation Warmth is a local youth organization which prides itself in supporting non-profits in Edmonton from the last three years. From raising nearly $10,000 in funds and approximately 700 bags of clothing, the group continues to assist and create volunteer opportunities for youth in the city. Reworks is a local start-up business which is currently tackling the issue of landfill waste created by fabrics and other textiles. The company is researching different ways to recycle this fabric and create a sustainable textile.
