Aunt Betsy Birthday Club - Free Birthday Cards!
Beschermde donatie
Betsy Budnicki ("Aunt Betsy") was one of the kindest people I have ever met. She had an address book as thick as a phone book (if you remember what those are!), and she made sure that everyone in our large extended family got a birthday card, no matter their age. And even though I knew it was coming each year, receiving that card from Aunt Betsy always made me feel special.
Aunt Betsy spent the last few years of her life in a nursing home, and had been unable to see her family in person since March 2020 due to visitng restrictions put in place as a result of COVID-19. Despite feeling down, she kept sending her cards, bringing a smile to the face of anyone who received one.
Sadly, Aunt Betsy passed away in August at the age of 83. The Aunt Betsy Birthday Club came about as a way to honor her legacy.
Now it is time to pay it forward! The purpose of the Aunt Betsy Birthday Club is to send birthday greetings to those who may not otherwise receive them, including the elderly, veterans and those in foster care.
Our goal is to partner with nursing homes, churches and other community-based organizations to send personalized cards to those in need on their special day. The back of each card will include a photo of Aunt Betsy with the tagline "Aunt Betsy thought of you!" Aunt Betsy never forgot anyone, and we want to remember her by helping others feel remembered too.
Proceeds from this GoFundMe will be used to establish a non-profit organization in Pennsylvania and a website as well as to procure printing equipment and supplies (paper, ink, etc.) Any remaining funds will be used toward the cost of postage within the United States and abroad. Our non-profit business model will be donation-based only, with our website frequently updated to show our current income and costs.
Help us honor our wonderful Aunt Betsy by bringing birthday smiles to those in need. Life may be short, but it is worth celebrating!
