Augustus Cook 2024 Training & Competition Funds

Augustus ‘Gus’ Cook is a 22-year-old High-Performance Athlete/Coach for the Oklahoma City Riversport Canoe/Kayak team. Augustus has been a member of the team since he was 10 and has grown up downtown at Riversport OKC.

Gus is a 13-time National Champion in the sport of Sprint Kayaking representing Oklahoma City - and a 6-time world finalist at the Junior, Under 23, and Senior World Championships.

Most recently, Augustus competed for Team USA at the Pan American Games in Santiago Chile, where he and his 4 man boat partners earned a Bronze Medal and an American Record.

Outside of kayaking, Augustus is currently enrolled as a student at the University of Central Oklahoma studying Kinesiology. When he isn’t training, Gus has a full plate of involvement on campus serving as the President of the President’s Leadership Council, and as the Vice President of Membership Development for The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

This year, Augustus plans to have a big push for both the Under 23 World Championships in July, and the Senior World Championships in September. This is Augustus' last year in the Under-23 Age category. Because of this, and his commitment to graduating college, Gus is raising money to help with training-related expenses.
