Build Augusta Birth Center

Donation protected

We are so excited to share this journey with the community. The CSRA has needed another option for pregnant women for far too long. We've received dozens of inquiries for birthing and women’s health services already. As we go forward we will share updates and when appropriate hold virtual informational sessions for you.

At Augusta Birth Center, we believe that every birth matters. Pregnancy and birth is an exciting time and it should be a wonderful experience.
Our mission is to provide a safe space for all women. We want our patients to have a positive and comforting experience here at Augusta Birth Center. Whether you are pregnant, planning, or not even thinking about it, we want you to feel at home in our practice. We will promise to support and respect you and your birth plan.

To add to our mission, we want to give you continuous support and access to women's health services such as mental health therapy, lactation services, childbirth education, mothers support groups, and much more all under one roof. In our facility you can access knowledge from our staff on pregnancy, unmedicated labor, infant care, breastfeeding, parenting, general medical questions as well as family planning.
We want everyone to have an active role in their self care. We believe that any medical decision should be discussed and not dictated. Patients should feel informed, educated, self confident and cared for at our facility.
Our staff is medically trained and state certified. We will appropriately utilize medical interventions when necessary and with consent. Our midwives will follow, guide, and educate any patient who needs a higher level of care that we can not provide.

In the meantime to give a little background:

This will be a MD/NP/Midwife (BSN, CNM) / Exercise Physiologist/ Doula run facility with a focus on community.

Offering water births, family centered births, and women's services.

We have strong ties to community resources and services already, to provide you a united whole health service!

We are starting this Gofundme to kick start funding for our filing fees and the first payments on securing land and our building contracts. These need to be taken care of as soon as possible since they are part of our certificate of need process, which has a deadline of roughly May, 2021.

Tentative opening, late 2021 or early 2022.

Our staff will be a direct reflection of the community which we serve, and will be made up of all different ethnicities, identities, ages, classes, and backgrounds. Your representation matters to us.

We will be offering the following services at our practice:

Water Birth and Natural Birth Options.
This includes labor, birth and postpartum services in our amazing birth suites. Monitored by an M.D, CNM (Certified Nurse Midwife) , RN and Doula.

Birthing mothers are free to labor and birth in different positions. At Augusta Birth Center, we know that one size does not fit all, and we believe that applies to birth as well.

We provide Intermittent or remote fetal monitoring during labor and birth. Hydrotherapy such as a large walk in shower or birth tub may be used with this type of monitoring. We encourage immediate skin to skin contact after birth and delayed cord clamping. Safe transfer to a local hospital can be arranged if medically needed for Mom or baby.

Prenatal visits are coinciding with group classes so you can be the most empowered and educated for your birth. It also gives you the opportunity to meet mothers in your birth window.

All patients will have access to a 24-Hour medical line where patients will have access to an MD, NP or Midwife for any questions or concerns during pregnancy.
Postpartum visits in your own home. We send our RN to your house to complete a postpartum visit. We make sure that you are getting the most rest and recuperation at home.

We plan to integrate postpartum care of Mom and Baby by providing support groups, wellness visits and working closely with local pediatricians.

We will also offer-
