Aughrim Village Community Park

Hi my name is Helen, I have been a member of the community here in Aughrim Co. Galway for 52 years. We are a historic village in East Co. Galway known famously for the Battle of Aughrim in 1691.

We have a space with great potential that needs some TLC. Our intentions with this GoFundMe is to clean up this area and enhance the beauty as you enter our historic village. The piece of ground was owned by Galway County Council and was given to Aughrim Village Community in 2023.

The ground is beside Hillside Nursing home and the community is eager to develop it into a space for all members of our community to use.

We hope in the future after the groundworks are complete, to turn the space into a recreational park.
