Katja's African volunteering fund

For several years I’ve had a dream. I still do, but I’m not sure if I’ve romanticized it. In my heart it feels right. My dream has been to volunteer as a doctor for Medecins sans frontieres, Doctors without borders. I decided to try volunteering before starting to study medicine, to see if volunteering is what I thought it would be. That’s why I planned on spending 6 months in Kenya, helping out at a medical facility out in the countryside.
Since I haven’t studied medicine yet I understand I may not have a lot to offer, but hope to learn from the people and from the experience I’ll get while staying there.
Unfortunately, to be able to make my dream come true I have to pay a lot of money to participate in the volunteer program, as well as for vaccinations, visas and flight tickets.
I just graduated from high school in June and have been working a part time job at a sushi restaurant trying to save up the money. Any help I can get in going to Kenya, however big or small, I would be forever grateful for.
