Assistance with Mary's Medical Expenses

June 17th, 2021 was supposed to be the start of a celebratory weekend traveling from Iowa to Arkansas, but the tides turned and Mary suffered a stroke 90 minutes prior to arriving at their destination. Thankfully, she was in good hands and was air lifted to hospital #1 and quickly received a blood clot busting medication. From there she returned to the helicopter and was transported to hospital #2 for immediate surgery. She is currently in ICU, surrounded by her husband Steve, and two sons Chad and Jeff.  When appropriate, she will be transported to a neurological unit for continued close medical supervision and therapy services. Only time will tell when she will be allowed to return to Iowa via air transport. Here she will receive aggressive inpatient therapy to restore as much function as possible. Mary is a fighter and her story is not over, but she has a long road ahead of her and there are many unknowns. 

With that being said, Mary and Steve are quickly accruing medical and boarding expenses which grow each passing day.  Additionally, her flight back to Iowa will cost $14,000, at a minimum, which insurance will not cover. In attempts to ease the already mounting stress, this GoFundMe page was created to help minimize their financial burden. For those of you that know Mary and Steve, they would never ask for a penny, nor expect assistance, from anyone. They are gracious individuals and would give the shirts off their backs if they thought it would be of assistance to another human being.
