Help With Legal Fees

NOTE:

Whilst I don't expect mass donations, if any donations do exceed the amount needed for a solicitor, I will be donating any further funds to charitable organisations, such as victim support services and mental health services. Full transparency, receipts, and information will be publicly provided should this be the case.

My Journey

18 months after I first approached the BBC with my ordeal and extensive research, they have published my story alongside numerous other victims they've spoken to. It took me over a year to compile evidence before being put in touch with the BBC. I personally spoke to dozens of victims. I am ecstatic.

However, whilst I may have won this battle, I've not yet won the war;

I have been taken to court, accused of defamation.

I am not commenting on the arguments of the case or my defences, for obvious reasons.

I thought when this day came that it would finally be over. It's far from over. I am in the position I have to defend myself in court, and I need a solicitor to do so.

I've already racked up £5,000 is legal fees before I've even reached an Options Hearing. My solicitor estimated it can be anywhere from £20,000 - £40,000 to see this case through.

I don't believe I'm entitled to help with this.

No one is obligated to help.

I'm not owed anything.

It was my choice to fight. It was my choice to be so public about this so that I could find other victims. I knew the risks.

But there may be some out there who would like to contribute a little after reading my story (if in the position to comfortably do so of course) as I am really struggling financially.

I'll make it work regardless. I have to fight this one way or another.

But any little helps.
