Good day and thank you so much for taking the time to read.
In 2016, I had emergency surgery for a perforated colon and had a colostomy for 8 months. We were able to reverse and be successful with the procedure. Well, in 2017, I developed a hernia, and they said we can't do surgery for 1 year after the procedure you've had, so let's see what happens and go from there! OK, well, life carried on. It wasn't that bad, and I said let's see what happens. Well, at the beginning of 2020, I started the process to fix them, and yeah, the world shut down 4 months later, so that kinda stopped the process again. Well, time moves forward, and they weren't that bad, so we just lived life and said, well ♀️. So fast forward to January, I called my Dr. and said let's start this process. She gave me the paperwork for my blood work and a referral for a GI on Thursday (Jan 30th) afternoon, and Monday morning (February 3rd), I was rushed into Broward Medical with these hernias, a hot mess experience. They admitted me with the NG tube and many, many tests later.
I'm not sure how long all this is gonna take or how long it's gonna last, but I'm a single mom. My girls work, but losing my income, my family is really going to need help. I do thank God that I have medical insurance, but it's the monthly expenses that I worry about. It's a HUGE responsibility for a 23 & 20-year-old to pay all the bills. My son is 17, and he has been helping me with everything else. I am eternally grateful for anyone and everyone who helps me.
mon February 21st they did do surgery and fixed the hernias and put mesh on my stomach to hold everything in and did a partial tummy tuck to make sure it stays in place. Thank you Jesus I had lost a ton of weight and the loose skin was gonna be the main issues. So they got rid of that for me. I’m wrapped in a binder now and have drains and tubes everywhere (even tho they took the NG tube out today which I’m so grateful for) so that’s todays update on the 22nd.
my nurse came in last night and took a pic of my belly for me. I was wrapped so tight I could barely breathe so she did loosen it some and I am FARTING thank you Jesus. Now we need a BM
