Aspire School & Homestay - Siem Reap, Cambodia

Anna and I recently had the privilege of volunteering at Aspire School Homestay and orphanage in Siem Reap - Cambodia.

Aspire was set up 10 years ago by its amazing founder Sean, who had a vision of providing education, care and housing to children in Cambodia.

Aspire provides free English lessons for over 100 children and a safe home for around 20 children. With tourism being Cambodias main employer, learning English is a vital skill providing better opportunities for disadvantaged children.

It’s hard to put into words the experience we have had. The children at Aspire school, despite being faced with deprivation and a significant lack of resources, are some of the most kind hearted and happy children we have ever met. It reminded us that happiness comes from within and from the sense of community and safety which Aspire provides.

Aspire is a self funded non-profit organisation, which relies entirely on donations, fundraising and volunteer support.

Aspire has truly touched our hearts and we want to do anything we can to help. We have set up a GoFundMe page to support the incredible staff and children at Aspire, to continue to learn in a happy and safe environment. Any donations big or small will contribute to housing costs, food, clothes, transport, teachers salary and school and sports equipment.
