COVID-19 Relief for Afghanistan
Tax deductible
The Afghan Student Organizations at VCU, GW, and GMU have joined forces, in partnership with the nonprofit WISEafghanistan, to raise money to provide supplies for people in Afghanistan to help them prepare for self-quarantining due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Afghan Public Health Ministry estimates that 25.6 million Afghans will be infected and 110,000 Afghans will die from COVID-19 due to inadequate medical supplies and poorly accessible, low-quality health care services. On the 27th of March, the Afghan government announced a lockdown across the country, which leaves millions of daily wage earners without any means to pay for food, water and shelter.
Here's what your donation will help provide for the people of Afghanistan:
One month supply of: Rice, Flour, Oil, Beans, Sugar, Soap, Tea, Toothbrushes, and Toothpaste. They will also work to educate the people of Afghanistan on how to protect against, and prevent the spread of, the Coronavirus.
Any donation will help make an impact. During this global pandemic, it is our duty as the Afghan-American community to come together and make a huge, positive impact on Afghanistan.
After we make our donation, WISEafghanistan will provide us with photos of supplies they purchased with our donation that we will post to our Facebook Event Page:
