Hello,
This is the CK McClatchy High School Football Team. I am Head Coach Roscoe Ahn. I believe sports are a vital component of the high school experience and, unfortunately, are often the first things to get reduced funding when budgets get tight. Since the Sacramento City Unified School District has significantly reduced support for athletic programs, most of the burden falls on the student-athletes to raise these funds. Specifically for football, for example, each year we need to replace outdated helmets at a cost of about $200 each. New footballs cost several hundred dollars per season. We have to paint our own fields several times over the season which results in hundreds of dollars in paint cost alone. We have a shortage of shoulder pads, travel bags, and equipment as well. Our coaches do it for the love of the game as the average stipend is less than a thousand dollars per coach for the entire year.
We do our best to cut-down on costs such as by using previous season’s game uniforms as practice uniforms. Also, by taking the time to set-up and take down the blocking sled every day, the pads have lasted us over two decades. We have twice gotten a volunteer welder to repair the sled in the past three years.
We are fundraising to cover operating costs for the team for the year. Our Tax ID is 94-6002491. Anything helps and we appreciate all donations. Thanks for reading,

Update #2: Although it looks like there have not been many donations online, we are getting a lot through cash/check directly to the program. I will update the amount to reflect that. Thank you for generosity. Everything helps.
It looks like are are about 25% counting the checks people have mailed in.
