Arlyss River’s Heart Surgery
On August 20, my niece, Arlyss River, will have open heart surgery to repair a heart defect. Arlyss was born with Down Syndrome and a moderate to large VSD (ventricle septal defect). This type of heart defect is common in children with downs syndrome. Her health is more compromised because children with Downs Syndrome are immunocompromised. Arlyss will be having heart surgery in Houston, Texas. She will be in the hospital approximately 1 week and will need to stay near the hospital for another week in case any surgery complications arise. During this time, her parents, Josh and Rachel, will be by her side. Since Arlyss is immunocompromised, Rachel has not been able to work in this time leading up to and after the surgery. They are currently relying on Josh’s income to support their family.
I am creating this GoFundMe to help offset the costs to their family for the hotel stays & meals during their 2 week stay in Houston. As well as the lost wages from their sole income since Josh will not be working during this time. Anything is truly appreciated. We thank you so much!
