Ari in Peru!
Donación protegida
Hi! I'm Ari and I'm about to graduate with a degree in Elementary Education! I'm creating this GoFundMe in hopes that it's a convenient way for close family and friends to support my Master's degree that starts up this fall.
This spring, I've been super super busy juggling full-time student teaching (which is unfortunately unpaid) with UConn classes and working as much as I can at a restaurant. My income just isn't quite matching up to another full year of school!
I have worked incredibly hard to fund my undergraduate expenses at UConn through scholarships, working as a Resident Assistant and peer mentor, as well as living at home my last semester. However, I do not have the same options for my Master's year. I just received my financial aid information to find that I was not offered support and I am on my own to pay for that year of schooling. Therefore, I will be personally taking out loans for the total cost which, to be transparent, is roughly $25k not including living expenses. I don't expect to receive $5k in donations but a girl can dream! :)
I'm also excited to say that I will spend my fall semester teaching/interning (unpaid again) at an elementary school in Cusco, Peru! This may seem to conflict with my financial concerns, but it is, in fact, a cheaper semester than if I stayed in Connecticut! In essence, it was a informed financial decision that will also give me unforgettable experiences.
Last summer, I taught Kindergarteners in Costa Rica (shown in the pics!) and I fell in love with teaching internationally. I'm hoping to grow a lot through the experience and *fingers crossed* become fluent in Spanish.
I understand what a privilege it is for me to have these experiences and this education. I'm forever grateful to those who have supported me in the process!
So long story short, in lieu of a graduation gift, I would really appreciate any support towards my tuition for the next year or any adventures I might pursue in Peru :)
