Archie's 100 Run and Ride
Donation protected
In early 2020, a friend of mine and fellow aviation firefighter tragically lost his 7 year old son Archie in a boating accident.
This year on August 8th, it will be Archie's heavenly 9th birthday and the family is holding a celebration of his legacy and an acknowledgment to the wonderful emergency services that dedicate their lives to saving others.
From this tragedy, Archie became an organ donor and gave the gift of life to 5 strangers. Archie's 100 is raising money that will be funding equipment, research and patient care at the Royal Hobart Hospital and Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.
To make my contribution to fundraising for the organised family day in Hobart on Archie's birthday, i am dedicating to run 100 laps of a 420 metre Aviation Rescue Firefighting Training Ground in Melbourne, 42 kilometres in total, on Saturday, July 31st. My good mate and work colleague Corey Duane is going to ride his bike for 100 kilometres on the same day on the same course.
We would really appreciate any and all donations as 100% of funds raised by us will go directly to Archie's 100. We would love to raise at least $5000 to hand over to the family on August 8th in person. My employer, Airservices Australia has committed to matching all donations dollar for dollar.
