WE DID IT!
HI FRIENDS!
We returned safely from our amazing adventure to
build a small, solidly built house for a deserving family In Juarez. It had been raining in the afternoons in Juarez recently and the family was desperately trying to patch a roof that was unpatchable. The smell of mildew in their hovel was palpable.
Due to your generosity and support, this deserving family now has a solidly built, insulated, three room home with electricity and a tar and gravel roof that will keep them dry in the rain and comfortable in the heat and cold of this desolate desert.
This trip included a brave dental team who work tirelessly to help people who have no care. They built with us in the morning and then worked in the clinic until the last patient was served at 10:00 each night. The people started lining up for care at 5:00 in the morning. These are amazing and brave people.
You also contributed enough money to buy some basic supplies for their new home, beds, tables, chairs, can food and diapers. Plus, we took craft projects and a snack to a local community center or orphanage. The meal is sometimes all the children will eat that day. We had great fun with bubbles, crafts and otter pops! Something these kids never get.
I was hugely blessed by this project and your generosity. Thank you so much. I'll be returning again next summer, and I hope you will continue to support me in helping the poorest of the poor.
Blessings to you all!
Cynthia
