Antipadeon Leadership Expedition to Cambodia

Hi my name is Ella. I’m a student at Vincentia High School and later this year i will be traveling  to Cambodia with the Antipodean Leadership Expedition. In addition to the challenges of traveling overseas i also have the challenge of raising money prior to departure to cover the cost of the expedition. I am really looking forward to this expedition and the personal growth the experiences will offer. I hope that you might be able to assist me in funding my trip.

What is the Antipodean Leadership  Expedition?

Antipodeans offers a program that takes students to developing countries, with the students actively involved in the planning and execution of their own expedition under professional supervision. Students will be challenged, will experience leadership and will immerse themselves in a different culture. In turn, they will call upon qualities of mindfulness, resilience and leadership.

Whilst overseas the students take on responsibility for all aspects of the planning and logistics, taking it in turns to look after the team budget, accommodation, transport, food, team briefings and sightseeing for the entire group.

A key element of the Antipodeans experience is the community project. The team will spend a few days in a small, remote community, during which time they will have the chance to interact with local people on a simple project such as painting, construction, renovation, and community engagement through teaching games or English. It provides a cultural immersion not available to the ordinary tourist. The team will also complete a trek designed to challenge the team in a mental, physical and emotional capacity. In addition to the project and trek, the students travel back-packer style to explore the sights and visit places of interest to them.
