Anthony Lopez (on the left) looks like an unassuming guy, but that's just his cover identity. In reality, he's a hero - at least that's how he looks in the eyes to his cousin Daniel Flores, and Daniel's wife and son.
You see, on January 8, 2016, Anthony will be giving his cousin Danny a late Christmas gift - the gift of life in the form of a new kidney. Following an illness, Danny struggled with declining kidney function for 12 years, until he eventually required daily dialysis starting in January 2012.
Anthony, his wife, two teenagers and their baby girl are graciously giving this gift to Danny and his family, even though it will cause some hardship. Anthony and his family will travel to spend a week in San Antonio for the surgery. After that, Anthony's recovery will take several weeks (up to two months) to heal, which means he will have to be away from his physically demanding job due to heavy lifting restrictions, losing many weeks of pay in the process.
Anthony and Danny have been cousins/friends/enemies/frenemies for many many years, through thick and thin. Anthony is excited to support his cousin. This campaign will provide traveling expenses, help this kidney hero support his family while he recovers from his life-saving gift (and allow time off for his wife to nurse him back to health).
