Angel Perez was born on April 4, 2015 at Methodist Women's Hospital in Omaha, NE.
His wasn't your typical birth. His Mom, Karla Perez, was just 22 years old and pregnant with Angel when she suffered a catastrophic brain bleed in Feb. 2015.
After consulting with Karla's family, the Methodist Health System medical team embarked on a journey unlike no other.
For 54 days, a medical team numbering in the 100s kept Karla's body functioning via somatic support so Baby Angel could grow bigger and reach a gestational age which would increase his chances for survival.
That day came in early April and after a three month stay in the neonatal intensive care unit at Methodist Women's Hospital Angel was discharged. He and his four-year-old sister, Genesis, are now in the care of his loving grandparents - Berta and Modesto Jimenez.
This fund will assist the family with living expenses and ongoing medical needs resulting from his premature birth.
