Our Angel Baby Chloey Jane Carroll

Our baby girl, Chloey Jane Carroll, was delivered in to our arms stillborn on January 29, 2016. She arrived at 11:35 am, almost 19 weeks developed. Chloey was 8 inches long, weighed 7.5 ounces and had amazing blue eyes. She was a beautiful, tiny angel who arrived with the most peaceful aura around her.
Although they had received alarming blood test results indicating a 1 in 5 chance of spina bifida, Shannon and Adam were beyond excited to welcome their baby girl. They were blessed to hear baby Chloey's heart beat three times at routine appointments. An appointment was made for an ultra sound and to meet with a genetic counselor and a specialist regarding the high AFP levels in Shannon's blood work.
What was supposed to be an exciting appointment quickly turned into the hardest day of Shannon and Adam's life. They were prepared to hear that their daughter might have spina bifida, but her spine was perfect. They were not prepared for little Chloey's heart to have stopped beating. The Carroll's left the hospital devastated and full of grief.
Faced with the options of delivering Chloey or having a surgical D&E which could possibly bring the baby out piece by piece, the Carroll's decided to deliver little Chloey. Two days later, Shannon endured the pain of child birth and brought their baby in to the world.
It was a bittersweet experience to hold their sweet baby and bond with her. Eventually, she was taken for a genetic test and an autopsy to determine what caused her tiny heart to stop before she could take her first breath. Chloey will be laid to rest on Saturday March 5,, at 11 AM, at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah and give everyone who loves her a place to visit and remember her. The cost of the autopsy, medical bills, and burial are overwhelming and the Carroll's appreciate all the love, thoughts, flowers, prayers and financial support they have received during this difficult time.
