Angela's Story
Angela overcame many challenges in her short life and taught those around her how to love and to always move forward. At age 2, she was hospitalized in critical condition for several weeks at Children’s Hospital. She survived her encounter with meningitis but lost her hearing in both ears. Angela adapted to her new quiet world, learned sign language and taught those around her how to move forward. She went to school, learned to drive, worked in the outside world, fell in love, married, had four beautiful children and got divorced. And taught those around her how to move forward.
Angela worked hard to provide her children, Isaiah - 17, Jordan - 12, Nathan - 8 and Lily - 5 with a warm, loving stable home and surrounded her young family with a strong sense of faith, family, community and many caring – nurturing, supportive friends. Several years ago, Angela became a passionate supporter of the Waukesha Women’s Center. She helped many women experiencing difficult times find their footing again, to stand up during a difficult period and move forward.
Five years ago Angela was struck with breast cancer. She had a mastectomy and underwent treatment. Angela again met this challenge head on, did all she could do to fight this disease and moved forward. In July of this year cancer struck again; this time far more aggressive and wide spread. Angela fought valiantly. Angela’s loving son Isaiah was by her side day and night caring for her. On a beautiful Friday morning, Angela surrounded by her family and friends, peacefully moved forward one last time to her final home….
