Help Anna & Antoni Secure A Future

Ana’s story was published in The Washington Post on June 29, 2021 (https://wapo.st/3qYSVlt). The story offered readers a glimpse of what it is like to walk in Ana’s shoes before and after her arrival to the US, in 2013. [Photo by Allison Shelley, Washington Post]

Ana is a single mother of two accomplished sons: Kevin, a 21-year-old, talented soccer athlete who gave up his dream to go to university when he turned down a full-paid scholarship to work and become independent. Ana’s youngest son, Antoni, is a seven-year-old preschooler, whose teachers have often praised Ana for his reading skills and good grades.

There are a lot of challenges that Ana faces daily, apart from the cultural shift and the language barrier; the array of challenges brought forth by childcare issues have kept Ana from breaking out of poverty.

With the collected funds Ana will be able to pay off her debt, secure childcare services for Antoni, cover rent, food, and transportation to get them through the rest of the school year.

Ana’s response to everyone who reached out to help:
“Thank you for helping me. My biggest dream is to own my own a food truck and sell food, I love cooking. For me, the American dream is to own a little home and provide a better life to my son."
