Daisy’s Uganda trip with Amigos 2024
Donation protected
Hello, I am Daisy I am a year 11 student from South Molton Community College. I have been selected to travel to Kira Farm in Uganda with Amigos (a North Devon based charity) in July 2024.
Amigos, works with children, youths and caregivers in rural Uganda to give sustainability, dignity and hope by facilitating training, education and infrastructure with the vision they become self-supporting in the future.
South Molton Community College, has supported Amigos and in particular Kira Farm for many years now, by fundraising and developing educational resources.
Each year a cohort of pupils are selected to travel to Uganda, the main objectives of the visits are:
- To give support and help to provide essential facilities for Kira Farm
- Raise funds to help pay for improvements
- Give students an educational and cultural experience
- To be ambassadors for Amigos Charity
Whilst much if our 12 day trip will be spent getting to know and helping the community at Kira Farm, we will also have the amazing opportunity to take part in some other activities like visiting a wildlife Rhino ranch, local markets and also other schools.
I keep pinching myself that I have been chosen to take part in this wonderful experience and will endeavour to make a difference wherever I can.
This life-changing trip comes at a cost £2,200 this amount covers my travel, food and also includes a donation to Amigos.
I am hoping to raise funds for this over the next year with events such as quizzes, car boot sales, creating and selling herb/flower boxes, plants and cake sales, I will keep you all posted on my latest fundraising ideas.
Any donation big or small would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you!
