Amelia & baby Graylin Bedrest Fund
Sunday March 26, 2017 was the scariest day of my life. Baby Graylin and I both could have died due to my placenta previa where I was bleeding out bright red blood. I was transfered to a different hospital that is 1.5 hours away because they have a NICU and I was given steroid shots to accelerate baby Graylins growth and lung development in preperation for a very early delivery. Very serious stuff.
As a result of the bleed, I am now on bedrest for the rest of my pregnancy ( we're only half way done) and maternity leave both with no income. If I am to ever have another vaginal bleed, no matter how small, I will be admitted at the research hospital until I deliver. Whether that be tonight, tomorrow, or at 36 weeks. So far, I've gone weeks without a single paycheck.
With the bleeding previa, that increases my risks of: having Graylin early (at 23 weeks currently with a less than 5% survival rate), I could hemorrage to death, he could die inside me, he could die outside of me, if I had a C-Section to attempt to save both of us the cut they'd use on my uterus would prevent any vaginal births for the rest of my life, or if I didn't stop bleeding, I would have a total historectomy at age 20 to save my life.
We are not the type of people to ask for help and we feel terrible but the sad truth is that we need it. I'm an EMT/Firefighter and my husbands a Marine and has dedicated his life to service. And now here we are on the other side in the worst situation we've ever been in.
What we need:
**We need help with our bills. We have cut EVERYTHING out that we don't absolutly need to have and we are struggling with daily/montly living costs. We will also need postpartum recovery financial help since my Paid Time Off is gone and there is no paid maternity leave.
**If Graylin comes early, we will need Preemie size baby clothes and diapers. And I'm assuming a lot of other things that I don't know about yet.
**We need help with food because it keeps going bad in the fridge because every time I get admitted, everything has gone bad since we've been gone.
**Travel expenses to be close to him when he's in the NICU 1.5 hours away will be a problem down the line.
We have applied for WIC, Medicaid, and Food Stamps.
Please help us.
The last few weeks have been rough both physically and emotionally before this severe bleed. I had just missed a few weeks of work and had been hospitalized for 5 nights and 6 days with a bad Kidney Infection that was unresponsive to IV antibiotics at first and possible PreTerm labor due to infection. My 24-48 hour observation turned into a 5 night 6 day admission listed as Inpatient. After 21 needle sticks, continuous IV fluids, and lots of IV antibiotics, I was discharged with no infection. The day after, I passed kindey stones which was horrible. Then the bleed happend and I find out I will not be able to work.
I have had to drop out of my classes in college even though there were only 3-4 weeks of the semester left. 
21 Weeks! The morning my husband Cameron left for his field opp and everything was "normal". Only a few days later, our life flipped. His command has been so generous and great in allowing him to be with me and to come home. All the support and love they have shown has been so fantastic and has really helped me emotionally and I haven't even met them.
