Please help support Amanda’s (Devika) children

Happy New Year to All!

As the new year begins and everyone is planning resolutions, we are hoping to accomplish our goal. Raising funds on behave of Amanda's children to secure a place for them to live. We are very grateful to those who are donating and are making multiple donations. We are asking for assistance to get more exposure. Please share and help us get their story heard. Many people have just spent the holidays with their loved ones. These young children may have relatives surrounding them, but there is no one who can replace a parent's love.
Our goal this year is to get them a permanent home. A home that will help them feel comfortable, safe and stay together as a family.

Please help us continue to share their story and raise funds for them.
Thank you all for your time. I wish everyone a blessed new year!

Dear Friends & Family,

Thank you all that have supported Amanda’s children through these hard time. They have given their mom a beautiful send off. The three children remain together with the help of their grandmother and close aunts and uncles. Elijah is working at a new job and Victoria and Aiden are enrolled in their local school in Jamaica Queens. We would like to continue the GoFundMe to share Amanda’s story and keep the opportunity for further donations open. We appreciate any donations to help support Amanda’s children. Their family is still working on a permanent home to keep the  children together.

We thank you all for your prayers, love, and support. Help us honor her and secure her children’s future and well-being. God bless you all!

Full Story Below:

Amanda Devika Jagnarine (42) was diagnosed with a frontal brain tumor the summer of July 2019. After discovering the tumor from an MRI scan, she was immediately checked into NY Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Hospital and scheduled for surgery on July 29.

The surgery was completed, and the brain tumor was removed. Amanda’s family surrounded her post-surgery and was prepared to assist her on her road to recovery. The first night following the surgery went well, but then her brain started to build pressure, swell and hemorrhage. When the brain starts to bleed you become very susceptible to an infection. She was rushed back into surgery where they relieved the pressure and put drains in her head to remove the blood. She was then put into an induced coma to reduce her involuntary movement and give her brain a chance to heal.

Amanda’s road to recovery had many ups and downs, her close relatives have kept their faith and have made endless prayers for her to wake up and recover. Uncertain when Amanda would wake up, a breathing tube was placed in her throat and a feeding tube in her stomach. Amanda finally woke up after 6 weeks, but she was not fully aware of her surroundings. Amanda remained in the ICU  for 3 months. NY Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Hospital cleared her, and deemed her stable enough to be transferred to a rehabilitation home.

On November 4th, Amanda was moved to a rehabilitation home in Freeport Long Island. During this time, her loved ones hoped and prayed for the best, expecting progress on her condition. After a few days, Amanda was called to heaven. Amanda Jagnarine passed away on November 11, 2019. May she rest in peace.

Throughout Amanda’s time in the hospital, the support she received from her family was incredible. Her mother was always at her side. Her siblings stepped in and assumed responsibility of taking care of Amanda’s children. Thank you all for your donations and support; we ask that you continue to share Amanda’s story. Anything you can donate will go a far way. God bless all of you!
