Thanks for taking the time to learn more about my adoption story!
I have been in various stages of the adoption process for just over four years. After all of that uneventful waiting, my whole world changed in less than an hour! I met with a birthmother on Saturday, August 25 and was overjoyed to hear her say that she had chosen me to adopt her son. I’m getting over the initial shock and am definitely feeling the overwhelming gratitude that appears when a stranger changes your life in the best possible way.
Baby Seppanen is due to arrive on September 20. Yes, you read that right! September 20! Because of the short timeline, I recognize that I could use some help in covering these one-time agency fees.
To date, I have paid more than $10,000 in initial fees. Prior to bringing baby home, I need to pay a placement fee of $12,000, legal fees of roughly $2,500, and post-placement fees which will cost $1,200. While reaching the goal posted here will not cover my adoption costs, it will be a huge help in minimizing my adoption-related debt.
I can’t possibly thank everyone enough for all of the love and support I have received. Please continue to pray for all of us involved in this adoption. Pretty much every part of the adoption process is an emotional rollercoaster, so it makes all the difference to have friends cheering for you! Stay tuned…
