Alyssa’s COVID Support Fund

My older sister, Alyssa Adamson, is currently in the ICU fighting COVID pneumonia. At this point she has had 2 ER visits, and was admitted on the second visit 1-11-22. She was moved to the ICU on Sunday 1-16-22. She is fighting to keep her Oxygen levels where they need to be while pushing to rehabilitate her lungs to do their job on their own.

Her husband Darrell Adamson has not been to work since 1-6-22, and hasn’t left her side except to find food or go home to be with their 2 sons when they make him leave the hospital. My goal with this is to raise funds enough to cover all of the medical expenses incurred through this difficult time, as well as cover Darrell’s income while he is away from work. They have insurance, but we at this point don’t know exactly how much will be covered. Once they are home Alyssa likely will still need close care and monitoring.

I feel their focus should be on getting Alyssa healthy and homeward bound! If we can remove the stress of inevitable and ever-looming bills they will be able to have one track minds focused on wellness! Please keep the Adamson family in your prayers that they might have lifted hearts and lowered stress and worry, pray for healing and rehabilitation, and pray for the hearts of those who see this that they might find a way to contribute financially.

***Update: 1-24-22***

 Yesterday, after discussion with doctors and respiratory therapists, Alyssa decided to transition over to the ventilator. Fortunately Darrell and my dad, Tom, were allowed to sit and pray with her while she looked at pictures of their sons as the anesthesia took effect. She decided to do this because her anxiety was preventing her from effectively pushing herself. She wanted to have a break from the stress and let the machine work on her behalf. Now, 24 hrs later there seems to be progress and her numbers are improving. Her lungs are very inflamed and stiff so they are not expanding like they should. The machine will help keep the lungs open and allow them to cleanse and heal. I know she was afraid of reaching this step, but I am proud of her for willingly making the decision. She knows that God has her covered and we will all be waiting for when she wakes up! Keep her in your prayers that she will remain strong and courageous! Pray for Darrell and the boys as they are surely worried and miss her a great deal. Pray for the hospital staff that they might be energized and determined to do their very best to help Alyssa and every other person in the ICU. This is certainly difficult for all involved!
