University of Miami's Alpha Epsilon Pi has chosen the charity Nicklaus Children's Hospital for its Philanthropy. Nicklaus Children's Hospital (NCH), formerly Miami Children’s Hospital, is a world leader in pediatric healthcare. Founded as Variety Children's Hospital in 1950, today Nicklaus Children's Hospital treats more than 185,000 pediatric patients each year. This not-for-profit hospital with a medical staff numbering over 650, is the largest freestanding pediatric teaching hospital in the Southeastern United States. Miami Children's Hospital is also the only licensed specialty hospital in South Florida that's exclusively for children.
