Rewound Radio is dedicated to celebrating great Top 40 and Oldies Radio!
Its format of music, original jingles courtesy of JAM/PAMS, promos and live shows is based on former great Top 40 radio stations like Musicradio WABC in New York.
Rewound Radio also features actual recordings ("airchecks") of original Top 40 radio stations during our weekly "DJ Hall of Fame" show and special dedicated weekends ("WABC Rewound", "WOR-FM Rewound", "Dan Ingram Electric Radio Theater").
Our extensive technical capabilities are supported by three computers that feed two servers. Bandwidth is needed to deliver streaming content to thousands of listeners around the world.
We pay required music royalty payments to ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and Sound Exchange which is a considerable expense based on our large listener base.
Rewound Radio also supports the Musicradio 77 WABC Web Site, the Good Guys WMCA Web Site and the WOR-FM Tribute Web Site. These provide extensive historical information about Top 40 Radio. We also host three on-line discussion forums dedicated to radio and oldies music.
Considerable expense is involved which for over two decades has been covered by founder Allan Sniffen. That includes five individual computers and servers, software, royalty payments and bandwidth.
Listeners and visitors have volunteered to contribute (thanks!!). This is not a requirement. Rewound Radio and its associated web sites are open and free but it's nice to have help!
Donations automatically go to the PayPal Giving Fund which will provide your charitable contribution tax receipt. That fund then transfers the proceeds to Rewound Radio. In this way you have the necessary documentation.
Rewound Radio is a nonprofit association under Section 501(c) (3) of the IRS Code. Contributions are tax deductible.
