I'm bigger and better every day!

As Teo approaches his first birthday, we have a  date on which to reflect and celebrate this miraculous year!  Born at 27 weeks, at a precarious time when he and Angela could have literally both died, he has weathered many storms and now flourishes as a curious, smiley, loving little guy.  Yet, as we get to know him as the complex and deep dude he's becoming, we recognize that his medical needs continue complicated and apparently fathomless.

It is through the heartrending care, love, and advocacy of Teo's family, Angela, Kim, Shayna, and Henry, that he is doing so well.  He receives the highest quality care at MGH and by home care nurses, yet even this requires vigilance and tenacity to keep well coordinated.  And because he still has a trach, a j-tube, multiple meds, and is simply catching up from being so premie, he has had a number of readmissions to the hospital (including right now).

Teo's friends and extended family have provided extraordinary physical, emotional, and logistical support throughout.  Might we consider extending our love and care by making a financial donation, however small, to Teo's family?  Angela has needed to be out of work since his birth, while Kim has worked more, and other expenses, such as Uber rides instead of family carpool to Shayna and Henry's activities, have added up this year.  Perhaps this campaign could raise enough to pay the mortgage on their Portland, ME cottage for some time--a place of peace, comfort, and solitude--so that the family may enjoy it stress-free as soon as Teo is able to travel.
