*** UPDATE: We met the goal of getting a washer/dryer for Alisa and her children! The response has been overwhelming, and it appears people still want to help Alisa with expenses. Anything over the $1884 will go towards attorneys fees and Alisa's Fall tuition. This is such a HUGE blessing to her. Thank you for helping Alisa, who, as so many have pointed out, has given service to us. I will leave this open until June 30. ***
Alisa Hodge, as most of you know, has had a rough year and is newly divorced. She is attending the Pathways program through BYU-Idaho to begin seeking her Bachelor's degree.
In the midst of her life being turned upside-down, her washer has stopped working. You won't believe how she has been doing laundry for the last few months! She takes it to the laundromat, washes it all, and then takes it all home to dry. All day long, piles of wet laundry await their turn in the dryer.
She was hoping to be able to replace the washer, but it turns out, because they are stackable, she needs to replace both the washer and the dryer, adding to the expense.
With a fairly fixed income, paying off the divorce attorney, plus all the normal bills, saving for these very necessary appliances will take her months, likely, well over a year or more.
Alisa is one of my dearest friends. She has affected my life on so many levels, always being the best example of our Savior. I want to help her, but the amount needed is a lot for just one or two people. When I told her we wanted to set this up for her, she wept. She received a blessing the night before where her appliances were specifically mentioned. This will be an answer to her prayers and a blessing fulfilled.
I know Alisa has touched so many lives, and often, in situations such as these, people don't know how to help. This is a very real, very needed, way to help her. If you know Alisa at all, she'd never ask for the help or disclose just how difficult things have been. I had to convince her that people will be happy to help her through this Go Fund Me.
The sale on the washer and dryer is in just 2 weeks - on July 4. The $1884 covers the appliances, all the set up, removing the old appliances, and a warranty.
